It's been awhile since I've gotten to play with photoshop and it felt good just to mess around with pictures again. Down below are the ones that turned out decent. And now it'll be nice to get back to shooting.

Break
So lately I've taken a break from doing photoshoots to focus on other stuff, mainly to relax and just enjoy summer. One of the things I got back into was photomanipulations inspired by some tutorials I found online.

Moneys
Money is one of those things where you don't really care about until it becomes your responsibility, and then it starts to have a huge impact on your life. Luckily for me I was taught to be responsible with my money from a young age and that has helped a lot, but even then you always find yourself in a tad bit of a hole every once in awhile.
These holes usually come in the form of either extraneous expenditures or over spending on necessities such as food. I have come to ask myself if I really need 80 hot dogs from Costco as seeing they'll probably rot or I'll die of a heart attack before I finish them. Yes they are a steal when bought in bulk, but its worth saving the 5 bucks by sucking it up and going to Ralphs to get the 6 pack instead.
Looking into my fridge recently I found myself in this little hole. I have more than enough food yet when I'm out either at work or somewhere around town, I still find myself pulling out my wallet to buy food. So for the rest of this month I will no longer be spending anymore money on food. I will have to hunker down and eat all thats in my fridge breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Yes I've seen those blogs/articles where people go on living for a month on a dollar or don't drive for a year. They save a ton of money, but no way am I ready to put myself through that gauntlet just yet. Baby steps. Baby steps.

Uncommon Art
I must say I love art that has the ability to take something that is ingrained in pop culture and take a new twist on it. Case in point Star Wars in the style of Feudal Japan art.
Han Solo and Chewbacca

Hindsight
Hindsight is a funny mistress. In a single stroke she'll show you the lessons you need to keep you moving forward in life all the while repeatedly punching you in the face for all the stupid decisions you've made before.

Starcraft!!
The Monkey's Paw
Children avert your gaze! Optimistic college freshmen go back to your dorm holes! Because your dreams might just be ruined. Don't say I didn't warn you.
When you were a kid and had your dream job, what was it about the dream job that made you want to do it? Was it the pay? No. There was potential job growth in the next 10 years? No. Was it because the company matched 3% of your 401k contributions? 3%? What's 3%? Why are there two circles over a slashy line?
You chose your dream job for two reasons. Because it was fun AND awesome. (Yes, in elementary school "fun" and "awesome" were two amazing different adjectives.) You wanted that job because in your mind all you'd be doing all day and everyday was fight fires, fly jet planes and shoot down bad guys, or be a video game tester by day and a marine biologist by night.
Kids you can achieve your dreams if you work for it, but many people underestimate the one thing that will turn your dream job into a monkey's paw. And that's PAPERWORK!!!
No matter what job you have, how awesome it is, or how much you get get paid, I guarantee you'll spend 90% of the time doing paperwork just to do your job. And that's the real tragedy. That dual astronaut captain and doctor job you went through 20 years of school for, then another 13 for training? Well if that doesn't suck all the passion out of the job, well the next 10 years of paperwork for 3 months of being in space will.
What's the solution to remedy this? The way I see it is, you better start getting used to it. The earlier you know the less of a shock it'll be and the easier it'll bet to cope with. Or just get so rich you can pay someone to do the paperwork for you. But if you've been slapped by reality like the rest of the working world, well early education is the way to go. The earlier we cope, the less likely we end up like Milton Waddams in Office Space.
Excuse me, I b-b-b-elieve you have my stapler.

Blog Makeover
So my original intent for this blog was to chronicle my journeys in Asia. A foreign and wild land that I had never visited until last summer (Those blog posts you can still read below). But I never thought of what I'd do with the blog once my trip was over, it seemed that once that trip was over the blog served its purpose and the journey was over.
But I've come to realize that it doesn't end there, and there are many more adventures just in our own neighborhoods, so I feel it is apt to keep this blog alive.
And having a blog is pretty useful too especially when I find so many amusing things on the internet. Case in point: (http://theoatmeal.com/comics/facebook_suck)
But more so this blog is a place to talk about anything and everything so enjoy!
